The United States Fence announced on Thursday that it is preparing to change its gender eligibility policy, after a viral protest from women’s fence Stephanie Turner triggered mass production and federal intervention by protesting a trans opponent.

“The United States fence pretends to need permission to follow federal law that guarantees fair competition and equal opportunities for women. They know that their current politics allows men to take women’s national and the world’s titles are unjust, but instead of taking responsibility, they transfer the money to the USAPC, an ideologically trapped organization,” Turner said.

“This results in a fair attitude without urgency of change. By admitting that the policy is wrong, but refuses to solve it, the women further insult. When we head to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, it is a long time to both USFA and USAPC to enforce policies that protect the women’s category for female athletes and stop defending responsibility.”
