Activists protested outside Maine Rep. Laurel Libby’s home on Sunday as opposed to her faith in transient athletes in women’s and girls’ sports.
Last week, Libby was censored by the State Representative House for a recent social media post pointed out that a transgender high school athlete had won a girls’ competition.
Maine House’s Democratic majority, led by speaker Ryan Fecteau, adopted the censoring decision on Tuesday night with a 75-70 vote. Libby is now no longer allowed to speak on the house base or vote until she sends out an apology.

Just eight protesters showed up outside Libby’s home with characters reading “Shame on you Laurel 4 who exploits a child 4 your political gain” and “protects Trans Youth” according to Maine Wire.
Mini-Protest came a day after hundreds participated in a demonstration against Maine Gov. Janet Mills.

Ahead of the march, an online petition to remember the governor received over 22,000 signatures. Hundreds appeared at the rally.

Last week, Trump Mills told the White House that she has to follow his executive order, or “You won’t get any federal funding.”
“See you in court,” she replied.
As for Libby, she told Pakinomist Digital last week that she wouldn’t apologize for the post. She did not immediately respond to a request for a comment on Sunday’s protest outside her home.
“It’s a remarkable double standard as there are in many places public photos of this person, on social media and even some who were sent by his school, and then, yes, this post went viral, but this was a person who participated in a public event that publicly stood on a podium and accepted a championship medal that rightly belonged to the girls who were in second place,” said Libby.

The US Education Department announced shortly after Mills’ and Trump’s interaction that it will be Examination of the state To allow trans -athletes to compete in girls’ sports and for potential violations of title IX.
