A woman was surprised by life when Travis Hunter was sitting next to her in a plane – except she had no idea who Hunter once was.
Hunter is, of course, the two-way football star who made his abilities a Heisman trophy and became the second choice of the NFL draft last month.
But Hunter was on a United flight last week as he was sitting next to Sandy Hawkins Combs, which was flattered by Hunter.

“I had the most wonderful flight home from Denver. I met the best young man sitting next to me. He offered to put my bag in the main room and helped me with my tray. He was always polite and said ‘yes ma’am’ or ‘no ma’am.’ Anyone would be proud to have him as a son or grandson – so polite, “Combs said of Hunter in a Facebook post.
At this point, however, Combs still had no idea who this stranger was. But then other passengers began to notice him.

Jaguars chose Hunter after trading from No. 5. Cleveland Browns initially held the second election and took on Jacksonville’s first round in 2026 in the process.
