Tri-Nation 2024/25, Pack VS NZ Final Match Report, 14 February 2025

Throw Pakistan Choose to beat vs vs New Zealand

Pakistan won the thrown and chose to beat the Tri-Series final in Karachi, five days before the two teams meet again in the Champions Trophy opener in the same place.

The hosts brought back Seam-Bowling Allrounder Faheem Ashraf instead of the fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain. This is Ashraf’s first international since the Perth Test in December 2023. His recent whiteball form is encouraging: he was the second highest wicket-taker in the recently completed Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) with 20 strikes with an economy of 7.12 to go with Some comos with bats.

Henry was rested as a precautionary measure due to a minor knee.

New Zealand’s Tempo Skewed Lockie Ferguson has resumed bowling after injuring his hamstring while playing in the Oxygen20 in UAE, but was not ready to play in the Tri-Series final. On the threshold of the final, head coach Gary Stead was optimistic about Ferguson’s progress and said “he tracks well.”

New Zealand will also be without Rachin Ravindra who had suffered a blow to the forehead in the Tri-Series opener. Ravindra had experienced headaches after the injury, but even though it has subsided since New Zealand, according to place, has no intention of hurting him back into action.
