A trial filed by three softball players in Minnesota against the state for having allowed a biologically male pitcher to compete, then its first hearing on Wednesday.

US district judge Eric Tostrud heard oral arguments from lawyers representing the three players in a request for a preliminary injunction that would block trans -bright athletes from competing in girls’ sports in the state.

One of the lawyers representing the three girls told Pakinomist Digital that they argue that the current Minnesota policies are violating title IX.

“It basically denies women’s equal athletic opportunities in sports that require competitive skills or contact sports to give men into these spaces to play against them,” said Alliance defending Senior Counsel Hal Frampton.

The applicants hope the case will result in a permanent change in the state’s sports scheme.

“We are looking for a decision that the statutes of the Minnesota State High School League to prevent any man who claims a female gender identity from paying women’s sports, we seek a decision that these articles of association fundamentally violate title IX,” Frampton said.

The lawsuit names three school districts, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, Minnesota State High School League CEO Erich Martens, Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Education Willie Jett, and Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Human Rights Rebecca Lucero as defendant.

One of the anonymous softball players involved in the lawsuit told former Pakinomist Digital what it was like to meet the Trans athlete leading Champlin Park High School to the state championship this season.

“Hitting against him is not only a physical challenge, but also a mental. It is a mental struggle by knowing that he has an advantage in the sport I grew up playing, making it difficult to even hit him. His ability to get outs and twist the ball is a strong advantage, but as I said it is also incredibly mentally challenging to know that you compete against one who has unrecognized advantage, who have left no advantage,” Player that has been said.

“This question has affected me in ways I had never imagined. It’s simply unfair and I hate that nothing happens to change it. Boys shouldn’t be able to take girls’ spots on team just because they are able to do it. I hope more girls affected by this question will face this.”

The anonymous player also called Ellison to aggressively defend trans -cluttering in girls’ sports in the state. Ellison has brought a lawsuit against President Donald Trump and the US Ministry of Justice about Trump’s “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order.

“It’s really troubling to know that [Ellison] Does not take rights for girls and women seriously. He allows boys to compete with girls and it is not safe and completely unfair. Knowing that AG Ellison is in full support to let boys and men take advantage of women in sports are absolutely disgusting and wrong, ”the player added.

Minnesota’s state laws failed to adopt “Preserving girls’ sports action“At the beginning of March, which would have stated that” only female students can participate in an elementary school or the athletic team at the high school level that an educational institution has limited to women and girls. “

Now this trial will try to reach the same purpose as this bill.
