Trump against Maine: USDA cuts funding to universities over trans athletes

The US Department of Agriculture Pausing Funding to the University of Maine System (UMS), a network of eight public colleges in the state, according to UMS officials. The break is in response to the state’s recent refusal to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order to keep transnry athletes out of women’s sports.

The break in funding comes as the USDA undergoes potential title IX and violation of section VI from the universities in the midst of the state’s recent rejection of complying with Trump’s executive order to keep transnry athletes out of women’s sports. Trump confirmed his intention to punish states that continue to allow trans -athletes to compete with girls under his 4th March address of a joint congressional meeting.

Trump’s administration has now traded after this promise.

A spokesman for UMS confirmed to Pakinomist Digital on Tuesday that it has been notified that funding will be paused.

“An E email being forwarded to the University of Maine, which appears to have stemed from the USDA’s Chief Financial Officer Office, heads the department’s’ award agencies and staff offices to temporarily issue any payments or authorize other expenses for financing to Columbia University or University of Maine System,” the spokesman said.

“The message continues to state, ‘This break is temporary, while the USDA evaluates whether it should take any follow -up actions related to potential title VI or violation of title IX. Please take necessary actions to complete this direction from leadership. This break will remain in force so far.'”

The UMS spokesman says the system told the USDA that the universities “were in accordance with relevant state and federal laws, and that UM’s universities are members of NCAA,” the system “ignores” ignorance of sections VI violations.

However, UMS says it will give further clarity on the situation after “further analysis is completed.”

Just hours after this interaction announced the US Ministry of Education that it would Examine the State To give transnry athletes the opportunity to compete in girls sports and for potential violations of title IX.

The US Ministry of Health and Human Services has already decided that the state and its educational department have violated title IX by giving transcend athletes the opportunity to compete and have referred to the US Ministry of Justice.

The Republican Maine State Rep. Libby was then censored by the State Representative House and speaks Ryan Fecteau for the position. Libby brought a lawsuit on Tuesday against Fecteau in response to the mistrust, where she tried to get her voting rights and speak rights to be restored.
