President Donald Trump participates in the last rounds of the NCAA Wrestling Championships 2024-25 Wrestling in Philadelphia on Saturday.
For the president, it marks another stop on his tour with major sporting events in what has been a sports -focused presidency.
Trump will be there too potentially witnessing sports history. Penn State seeks to expand its line to four equal national titles. That would be the third time Penn State has won four equal championships since 2011. Only Iowa and Ohio State have interrupted Nittany Lions’ dominance.
And Penn State is firm in the driver’s seat to do so, leading with 169 points, 60 points ahead of Nebraska in second place.

“We go to the big fight. … they have NCAA, the world, wrestling in college. And I have always supported Wrestlers,” Trump told journalists outside the White House on Friday. “So I want to support them. These are the big college -Wrestlers from the different schools. I think the Penn State is a leader and Nebraska is in second right now. And a lot of good things.”

Outkick-co-founder Clay Travis broke the news on Tuesday that Trump would attend the event when he said in an X post he would travel with the president at Air Force One to the championship.
The White House confirmed Friday that Trump would attend the event.
The House Court Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, also reportedly joins Trump in Philadelphia, a source familiar with his plans told Pakinomist Digital.

Jordan was a wrestling champion in high school and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he won a NCAA Division I-men’s wrestling title twice. He was later assistant coach at Ohio State University’s Wrestling program from 1987 to 1995.
Senator Dave McCormick, R-PA., Will also tag with. McCormick previously confirmed that Trump would be present at the event in senator’s home State of Pennsylvania.

This will be the second time in three years President Donald Trump has participated in the NCAA Wrestling Championships. He also participated in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2023.
Trump has been seen at a few different sporting events since he won the November election.
Trump participated in Daytona 500 in February and became the first sitting president to attend two Daytona 500 races at Daytona International Speedway. He first participated in the race in February 2020.
Trump attended Perace festivities and drove in “The Beast” in a lap before the race, and he had a special message to drivers sent on their radios.
Earlier in February, Trump became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl. When Trump was shown at the stadium, a violent cheer on the Fox broadcast from the crowd was heard.

In December, Trump participated in the 125th edition of Army-Navy Game with Vice President JD Vance, speaking for the house Mike Johnson, Senate’s majority leader John Thune, defense secretary Pete Hegeth and director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
Trump participated in the annual rivalry game throughout his first presidency, which only participated in 2016, shortly after winning that year’s election. He was also at the game in every year of his presidency, including in 2020 at West Point.
A few weeks after Trump won the election over Vice President Kamala Harris in November, he participated in UFC 309.
Trump sat cages next to Elon Musk, secretary of health and human services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Donald Trump Jr. And others.
Jon Jones defeated StiPe Miocic via knockout and made Trump’s signature dancing movement, pointed to Trump and gave his UFC Heavyweight Championship Belt to Trump to hold.
