The sports world was hit by a stunner late Friday night when George Foreman’s family announced that he had died earlier in the day at the age of 76.
A sports fanatic himself, President Donald Trump remembered the legendary boxer in a truth social post early Saturday morning.
“George Foreman is dead. What a big fighter !!!” Trump wrote. “He undoubtedly had the heaviest and greatest stans in the box’s history. With the exception of [Muhammad] Ali, when you were hit, you went down. He was something really special, but above all he was a great person with a personality that was bigger than life. I knew him well and he will be missed. HOTTER COMPOSITION WITH HIS WONDING FAMILY !!! “

Trump’s post came hours before his expected performance in the NCAA Division of the Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia.
Foreman became Olympic Gold Medal in 1968 when he defeated the Soviet Union’s Jonas čpulis in that year Mexico City The Olympics, but was most prominent for his big ticket matches against other legendary boxers Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier.
Foreman won the heavyweight title with a fantastic second round of knockout of the former undefeated Frazier in 1973. He defended his title twice, but then noticed his first professional loss in a match to Ali in the iconic 1974 match called “Rumble in the Jungle.” This match was famously fought in Kinshasa, Zaire, now known as the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Foreman then retired after a loss to Jimmy Young in 1977, but returned to boxing 10 years later after a self -described religious awakening. In his second stint, Foreman continued to win the overall WBA, IBF and Linal Tongur Guide Championship titles.

In 1994, at the age of 45, foreman Michael Moorer, a boxer 19 years younger than him, defeated to demand the heavy weight title. Foreman became the oldest world’s heavy weight master in the history of boxing; He remains the second best master of any weight class.
Then he withdrew too well in 1997 at the age of 48 with a last record of 76 wins, with 68 coming via knockout and only 5 losses.

In his career after the box, foreman became a successful entrepreneur when he licensed his resemblance to the home apparatus Salton, Inc., now known as Russell Hobbs Inc., to launch George foreman grill-a portable electric grill, which became a regular household device and sold over 100 million units.
