President Donald Trump again aimed at the Washington commanders of franchise’s notorious name change, this time during an event in the White House.
During a ceremony for the signing of an executive order to restore the presidential physical fitness test, Trump addressed a question of his recent demand that the franchise changed its name back to Redskins.
“I don’t even know what the hell their last name is,” Trump said. “It’s commanders or something? Is it commanding? Commanders, it’s not a good name.”

Trump called Redskins “Fabled” and suggested the team “brought the name back.”
Trump has called on Cleveland Guardians to change their name back to the Indians and did it again Thursday in the White House.

“And I mean, Cleveland -Indians. What about that? It was an original. Original franchise -1903 or something, 1906. An original Cleveland -Indians, and what do they do? They change the name of Indians.

Trump recently called on the teams to change their names back on social media and even suggested he could try to block funding for Washington’s new $ 3.7 billion stadium project on site for the old RFK Stadium.
The project is in the design and negotiation phase with groundbreaking scheduled to 2026 and an expected opening in 2030. The organization is cooperating with the DC Council to end the agreement.
