MORRISTOWN: President Donald Trump said on Sunday that US dealers had “very good” conversations with an Iranian delegation this weekend as he is looking for an appointment to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.

“I think we could have some good news on the Iran front,” Trump told Morristown journalists, New Jersey, the airport as he prepared to return to Washington after a weekend at his Bedminster Golf Club.

Trump said that serious progress was made. He did not elaborate on the negotiations in Rome between the American special envoy Steve Witkoff and an Iranian delegation.

“I don’t know if I will tell you something good or bad over the next two days, but I have a feeling that I might be telling you something good,” he said.

Trump agrees to delay the EU dust rates until July 9

On Sunday, Trump supported his threat to beat 50% duty on the imports of the European Union next month, and agreed to extend the deadline until July 9 for conversations between Washington and 27-nation block to produce an agreement.

Trump on Friday said he recommended that a 50% duty go into place on June 1st due to frustration that talking to the EU was not moving fast enough. The threat burned global financial markets and intensified a trade war that has been characterized by frequent changes in customs policies towards US trading partners and allies.

Trump, who has repeatedly expressed contempt for the EU and its treatment of the United States on trade, was led to Europe Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to him on Sunday that the EU needed more time to reach agreement.

She asked him during a call to delay the tariffs until July, the deadline he had originally set when he announced new tariffs in April. Trump told journalists he had given the request.

“We had a very nice call and I agreed to move it,” Trump said, before returning to Washington after a weekend in New Jersey. “She said we will quickly meet and see if we can find out anything.”

Von der Leyen said in a post on X that she had a “good call” with Trump and that the EU was ready to move quickly.

“Europe is ready to move on and resolute and resolute,” she said. “To reach a good deal, we need the time until July 9.”

The euros and the US dollars rose against the Safe Harbor Yen and the Swiss Franc after the extension of the deadline.

In early April, Trump set a 90-day window for trade interviews between the EU and the United States to end on July 9. But on Friday he rose to the time frame and said he was not at all interested in an appointment.

“I’m not looking for a deal,” Trump said at the time. “We’ve set the deal – it’s at 50%.” Larger US stock indices and European equities fell and the dollar was weakened as a result.

Trump has tried to increase the world economy with his trade policy, but after his announcement in April on tariffs in several countries triggered the upheaval of the financial market, he called down on his threats in favor of conversations. Since then, Washington has colored a covenant with the UK and has had discussions with China.

Trump says he is not happy with Putin to bomb Ukraine

Donald Trump also expressed deep misfortune at Russia’s weekend bombing of Ukraine and said of Russian President Vladimir Putin, “I’m not happy with Putin.”

“I don’t know what’s wrong with him. What the hell was happening to him? Right? He’s killing a lot of people. I’m not happy about it,” Trump told journalists at the airport in Morristown, New Jersey as he prepared me to return to Washington.

Trump spoke in response to a Russian barrier of 367 drones and missiles in Ukrainian cities overnight on Sunday, including the capital Kyiv, in the largest air striker of the war so far, killing at least 12 people and sores dozens more.
