President Donald Trump threatened to hang the Washington commanders’ plans to build a new stadium in the DC in the balance sheet if the team did not return to the Redskins monician.
Trump put the pressure on the commanders and Cleveland Guardians on Sunday – both organizations called out in two positions made on truth social.
“My statement about Washington Redskins is completely blown up, but only in a very positive way,” Trump wrote in another truth’s social post. “I may be able to limit them that if they do not change the name back to the original ‘Washington Redskins’, and get rid of the ridiculous moniker,’ Washington commanders, ‘I will not make a deal for them to build a stadium in Washington. The team would be much more valuable and the deal would be more exciting for everyone.’

The president added that the guardians should follow.
“Cleveland was to do the same with the Cleveland Indians. The owner of the Cleveland -Baseball team, Matt Dolan, who is very political, has lost three choices in a row because of the ridiculous name change,” Trump added. “What he doesn’t understand is that if he changed the name back to Cleveland -Indians, he can actually win an election. Indians are treated very unfairly. Make Indians great again (Miga)!”
Paul Dolan is a team owner. Matt Dolan has a minority share in the organization.
Pakinomist Digital reached the commanders for comment.
Trump set the original demand for the teams to change their names earlier on Sunday.
“The Washington ‘no matter what needs to be changed immediately their name back to the Washington Redskins football team. There is a great clinging for this,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday. “Likewise, the Cleveland Indians, one of the six original baseball teams, are with a stored past.
“Our great Indian people, in massive numbers, want this to happen. Their heritage and prestige are systematically taken away from them. The times are different now than they were three or four years ago. We are a country of passion and common sense. Owners, get it done !!!”
Guardian’s President Chris Antonti responded to Trump’s pressure in the middle of the afternoon. He said it wasn’t actually something the organization had in mind.

“But I would generally say that I understand that there are very different perspectives on the decision we made a few years ago,” he said via Cleveland.com. “Obviously, it’s a decision we’ve made and we’ve been given the opportunity to build the brand as guardians for the past four years and are excited for the future.”
Guardians had no further comments on Trump’s post.
Commander’s team owner Josh Harris joined Trump, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in Oval Office when the agreement for the RFK Stadium -Web site was announced.
Congress legislators supported Harris, who went back to the old stadium, provided that the team and the NFL would honor the old Redskins logo. Senator Steve Daines, R-Mont., Said in November that he would support the organization in the future with his plan after “good faith negotiations” with both units.
“We called leaders in case of really, woke up gone wrong,” Daines said at the time. “The irony that they canceled Native American culture when the DEI movement went far too far. This honors a Blackfeet chief born in Montana. He is widely considered. The Blackfeet stem in Montana, their current chairman and the tribal government signed a letter in strong support to bring the logo back.
“We have good discussions with the NFL and with the commanders. There is good faith in negotiations in the future that will allow this logo to be used again. Perhaps the revenue that was going to a foundation that can help native Americans in sports and so on. We are making good progress and based on the good faith negotiations, I made a decision to support this bill in the committee.”
But Harris made it clear in an interview on Pakinomist Channel’s “Special Report” that there were no plans to bring the Redskins name back.

“The Commander’s name has actually taken on a fantastic form of element in our building,” replied Harris on Bret Baier’s questions about the Redskins name coming back as part of this new stadium agreement. “So the people who certain types of players who are hard, the love football are delegated command and Jayden [Daniels]is, for example, a commander and they are ranked.
“And you know, the business staff has come into it, and obviously we’re in a military city here. There are more military staff than anywhere else, so we are moving a little forward with the commander’s name, excited about it and not looking back.”
