US President Donald Trump signed the law a massive package of tax and expenses for cuts in a White House Ceremony on Friday, a day after the Republican controlled Representy House, approved narrow signature legislation for Trump’s second period.
The Bill, which finances Trump’s immigration craving, makes its tax cuts permanently in 2017 and is expected to beat millions of Americans from Health Insurance, was adopted with a 218-214 vote following an emotional debate on the house base.
“I’ve never seen people so happy in our country because of it because so many different groups of people are being taken care of: the military, civilians of all types, jobs of all types,” Trump said at the ceremony, thanking the house’s speeches Mike Johnson and Senate’s majority leader John Thune for having the bill through the two houses in Congress.
“So you have the biggest tax cut, the biggest expenditure cut, the biggest investment in border security in American history,” Trump said.
Trump planned the ceremony on the southern lawn of the White House for July 4th Independence Day break, filled with a flyover of stealth bombers and fighter jets like those who participated in the recent US strikes at nuclear facilities in Iran. Hundreds of Trump supporters participated, including helpers in the White House, members of Congress and military families.
The Bill’s Passage is a major victory for Trump and his Republican allies who have claimed it will increase economic growth, while largely rejecting a non -partical analysis that predicts it will add more than $ 3 trillion to the country’s $ 36.2 trillion debt.
While some legislators in Trump’s party expressed concern about the bill’s price tag and its influence on health programs, eventually, only two of the house’s 220 Republicans voted against it and joined all 212 Democrats in opposition.
The tense standoff over the bill included a record -long flooring of the house’s democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, who spoke for eight hours and 46 minutes, which blasted the bill as a gift to the wealthy who would strip Americans with low income of federally supported health insurance and food assistance services.
