Saquon Barkley won a Super Bowl with Philadelphia Eagles, but his past with New York Giants is still a talking point – even for the president of the United States.

Eagles were in the White House on Monday afternoon to visit President Donald Trump to celebrate their Super Bowl Lix win.

Barkley and Trump had hung together before the ceremony when they were discovered at Trump’s golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, before flying back to Washington together at Air Force One.

During Trump’s talk about Eagles, he couldn’t help but remember a conversation he says he had with Giants trainers before Barkley made the decision to go to Philadelphia in free agency.

“Too Other, I have to tell you something,” Trump said, discussing Barkley’s huge business against Jacksonville Jaguars, preventing him over a defender. “I was with the giants and the head coach and some people and said, ‘Do everything you have to but don’t lose saquon.’ They lost saquon.

Eagles’ Saquon Barkley slams critics after hanging out with Trump

“It wasn’t good. I called it. It was easy to call because he played damn well for Giants. I can tell you. He made the right decision because it’s a team sport and there are big people on this team.”

During the 2024 season, Barkley and Giants are tied up because he traveled to their NFC East-Rival Eagles in free agency. The organization had control to expand him in the past, but they were never able to get the job done.

It didn’t help Giants fans that Barkley started like a rocket with Eagles and never looked back. In the end, he won this year’s offensive player after breaking a league record with the most rushing yards in a single season, including the postal season with 2,504.

Barkley seemed to respond with a laugh directly behind Trump when he mentioned Giants.

“He’s a beautiful guy, but I don’t want to tackle him,” Trump said of Barkley. “… he’s big. I got to know him a little bit. I offered him a trip on the Air Force One because I came down, and usually they say, ‘No, no. He said, ‘I take it, sir,’ and he loved it.

Barkley had to defend his hanging with Trump after he was ridiculed by many on social media.

Before the White House Ceremony posted Barkley on X.

“Lol some people are really disturbed because I played golf and flew to the White House with the president,” twited Barkley Monday. “Maybe I’m just respecting the office, not a tough concept to understand. Just golf with Obama not too long ago … and looks forward to ending my round with Trump! Now you have to get out of my mentions with all this policy and have a great day.”
