President Donald Trump stirred the hearts of the University of Alabama candidates as he confirmed his promise to “keep men out of women’s sports.”
During a commencement speech at the university’s graduation ceremony on Thursday night, Trump gave a shutout to the school’s SEC Champion Women’s Track and Field team before igniting a violent applause by “promising to defend women’s sports.”
“As long as I am president, we will always protect women’s sports. Men will not play in women’s sports,” Trump said before the crowd broke out in cheer for his highest and longest applause at night.
“In no way. They say it’s an 80-20 problem. No, it’s a 97-3 subject, I think,” Trump said. “No, men won’t play in women’s sports. I said that, and I classified it with a very powerful executive order you know. It’s done.”

Later in the speech, Trump circled back to the subject and mocked the Democrats for allowing trans athletes in women’s sports and trans athletes even in a long expense.
During this section of the speech, Trump also discussed the Paris -Women’s Boxing Competitions, which included two gold medals previously disqualified from international competitions for unsuccessful gender -eligible tests. However, none of the boxer, the Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-thing, identifies as transgender.
“They had an amazing champion, a female boxer, and after a stans she went back to the corner and said, ‘I can’t be hit like that, I’ve never been hit like that before,” Trump said.
At one point, Trump made a physical imitation of a female weightlifter and a transweight lifter, and reintroduced a scenario in which the woman loses a competition for a trans opponent.
Then Trump was aiming for transient swimmers and told the story of a swimmer with whom he joked was “Windburned” by a trans opponent.
“A young lady, she had to set the record, she fought all her life to set the record,” Trump said. “Then she looks to the right and she sees the same thing, but there is a person next to her who is a giant … It was a person who surpassed and he had the wing buckle of Wilt ‘The Stilled’ Chamberlain.”
Trump referred similar references to weightlifting and swimming scenarios in June 2023 while talking at North Carolina Republican Party Convention in Greensboro.
On Thursday, Trump also referred to female volleyball players who have been influenced by trans -cluttering.
“You look at all the volleyball players who have been injured so badly that are affected at levels they’ve never seen before,” Trump said.
A former University of Alabama Women’s Volleyball player, Brooke Slusser, was thrown into a situation where she had to share a dressing room and bedroom with a trans athlete as she transferred from university to San Jose State University in 2023. In a trial claimed slushes that she was done to share these spaces with Trans -Team Camera Blaere Fleming without to be fell, Fleming was a biological man.

Alabama has had a state law in place since 2021 to prevent trans athletes in girls’ sports. By 2023 it was expanded to include college students. Unlike other laws that address the question, Alabama’s law also prevents athletes assigned to female at birth from participating in the boys ‘category, unless there is no comparable girls’ opportunity (such as football).
Trans Inclusion in Women’s and Girls Sports emerged as a Hot-Button question in Trump’s 2024 election victory when most Americans came to take Republicans on the subject.
ONE National Exit Poll Made by the affected women for America Legislative Action Committee found that 70% of moderate voters saw the issue of “Donald Trump’s resistance to trans -bright boys and men playing girls and women’s sports and by transient boys and men using girls and women’s bathrooms” as important to them.

Six percent said it was the most important question of all, while 44% said it was “very important.”
The question inspired a national counterculture movement against democratic policies holding trans athletes in women’s sports, strongly influenced by young college-educated women. The bite’s 35-point lead over Trump among young women in the presidential election cycle by 2020 shrunk to a 24-point margin for Trump’s opponent of 2024, Vice President Kamala Harris, per. ONE New York Times/Ipsos Survey Found the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, do not think transnry athletes should be allowed to compete in women’s sports.
Of the 2,128 people who participated, 79% biological men who identify themselves as women said should not be allowed to participate in women’s sports. Of the 1,025 people who identified themselves as Democrats or inclined Democrat, 67%said transkon athletes should not be allowed to compete with women.
Nearly 70% of Americans say that biological men should not have permission to compete in women’s sports, according to a Gallup voting Last year.
In June 2024, a study performed by Norc at the University of Chicago The respondents asked if transient athletes of both genders should be allowed to participate in sport leagues that correspond to their preferred gender identity instead of their biological sex. In this study, 65%responded that it should never or rarely be allowed. When the respondents were asked specifically about adult transient female athletes competing in women’s sports, 69% opposite it.
