California Interscholastic Federation (CIF )’s genital participation policy has been at the forefront of the controversy. While the organization changed some of its policies when it came to track and field, the US Justice Department filed a lawsuit against CIF and California Department of Education (CDE) on biological men continued to compete against women. The policy opposed Trump’s executive order, which he signed in February.

“Any California school district that does not comply with our transient policies will not be funded. Thank you for your attention to this case!” Trump wrote in a post about truth social.

Newsom’s office responded to a request for comment.

“If it’s a day ending at Y, President Trump attacks children’s safety, health and access to education as part of his cultural war,” Newsom spokesman Elana Ross told Pakinomist Digital.

Transdenders Athletes in Girls and Women Sports is a problem that doesn’t seem to disappear despite Trump’s “No Men in Women’s Sports” executive order.

California is one of a handful of states that have not yet changed their policy to comply with contact. The Kern County Board of Education recently changed its own policies contrary to the state’s policy.

Newsom has previously said that CDE and CIF follow laws that the state adopted in 2013, but has repeatedly said he believes that men who compete in girls’ sports are “unreasonable.”

“I struggled with the question of justice when it came to sports,” Newsom said in response to the trial at a July event. “And we tried to find out a couple of years ago and we were not successful. And we recently struggled with it.

“And my attitude is that I don’t think it’s fair, but I also think it’s degrading to talk down to people and to break down the transfer community. And I don’t like the way the right wing talks about the trans community. These people just want to survive.”
