Lahore:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Tuesday that every time US President Donald Trump talks about stopping the Pakistan-India war, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modis ‘wounds again’.
“US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that we stopped the war. When the US president says we stopped the Pakistan-India war, Modi’s wounds are opened again,” he said, as we inaugated Pak Business Express and recently upgraded passenger facilities at Lahore Railway Station.
Under his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz also paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces for their resilience in the four-day conflict with India, which he described as “short but very dangerous.” He praised the technical superiority of the military, the internal innovations of the air defense, and the army’s use of all FATAH missiles.
“India believed that Pakistan could only rely on nuclear deterrence, but conventional warfare supremacy has shattered that myth,” he said, confirming his commitment to the nation’s security. He added that our nuclear assets are guarantees of national security, and the enemy dares not look at us with an evil eye.

When he spoke during the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed satisfaction with the station’s visible transformation. “From a warm welcome to well-groomed receptionists, renovated CIP lounges, upgraded passenger-vent rooms and a fully renovated train with modern European style dining room and sleeping bunks, the change is really gratifying,” he said.
PM paid tribute to the digitalisation of the ticketing system, the introduction of Wi-Fi facilities and outsourcing services to improve efficiency and professionalism. “These services are for the common masses, not just a privileged class. This is a step toward transforming railways into a best in class transport system for both passengers and shipping,” he added.
PM Shehbaz praised the Minister of Railways Hanif Abbasi, the Railway Secretary and President of their Efforts, while recognizing the previous contributions from former Minister Saad Rafique, who highlights his “16 months of dedicated service” to the Railway Department.
He also emphasized the need for punctuality and transparent outsourcing of rail areas and services for the purpose of converting these assets into profitable ventures for the nation. He also emphasized the importance of continuing the transformation of Pakistan railways across the country, from Peshawar to Karachi, Rohri and Quetta.

Railway minister Hanif Abbasi thanked the prime minister for his vision and leadership. He credited him to support digitization, outsourcing services and the introduction of a cashless payment system at railway stations.
He also revealed that the railways had earned RS93 billion, installed escalators for various personal passengers and improved cleanliness and punctuality across stations.
