Tulane basketball star Gregg Glenn III died in what the university called a “tragic accident” on Monday.
Glenn was 22 years old.
“It is with deep sadness that I reach out to you today,” Vice President of Student Affairs Sarah Cunningham wrote in a letter to the “Tulane Society.” “We have lost a beloved member of our university society, Gregg Glenn III, who died in a tragic accident this weekend. He was a talented student athlete who ferged our lives with his spirit, dedication and passion for both sports and academics.

“Gregg was an excellent athlete on our men’s basketball team and a person who brought joy and light to those around him. His commitment to expertise inspired many of us.”
Cunningham’s message did not reveal details of the “tragic accident.”

“The oldest of his siblings, Gregg was a health and wellness major from Pompano Beach, Florida. Known for his contagious personality, positive energy and kindness he lit every room he entered. Well known in the southern Florida area of his basketball skill, he will be very much missed by many.
“Let’s remember Gregg not only for his results in sports, but for that kindness and warmth he shared with everyone. He will forever remain part of our university family.”

Glenn was a product of Calvary Christian High School in Florida, where he got up to become a division in view.
He began his college basketball career in Michigan, playing only four matches his first year.
Glenn would transfer to Tulane in the 2023-24 season, where he primarily played from the bench, an average of 3.6 points over 9.7 minutes per day. Match.

Last season, Glenn had a breakout year and started all 34 games on forward. He average 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
