Tump -assistant commissioner abducted from near Tigranabad, Balochistan

Armed men abducted Tump -assistant Commissioner Hanif Noorzai on Wednesday morning near Tigranabad as he traveled with his family to Quetta, according to local sources.

Eyewitnesses report that between six to eight armed persons stopped his official vehicle, took him away with a gun and fled with the car. His wife, driver and official gunman was left on the spot and remain unobtrusive.

The incident has led to a quick response from security forces that have launched a large -scale search operation in the area. Snap control has begun along Zubaida Jalal Road and nearby routes, while intelligence-based effort is used to track the abductors.

The abduction of a senior head of government has raised concerns about the security of officials in Balochistan, especially in the Makran region. The authorities have not yet identified those responsible and no group has assumed responsibility right now.

Efforts to locate and safely restore assistant commissioner Noorzai are in progress.

Earlier this week, seven terrorists were reportedly affiliated with the India-backed group Fitna al-Hindustan killed in two separate operations in Balochistan on June 2, 2025.

Previously, the federal government had officially appointed all terrorist groups operating in Balochistan as Fitna Al Hindustanthat accuses India of sponsoring a proxy war through these clothes.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of the Interior, the move comes from “the involvement of some organizations and groups in terrorist activities in Balochistan, which is harmful to Islamic faith, Pakistan’s sovereignty and its usual traditions”.

The message further stated that the new term is intended to reflect “the true nature and ideology” of these groups and their “dishonest design” sponsored by India.
