Quetta:
Armed men abducted Tump -assistant Commissioner Hanif Noorzai on Wednesday morning near Tigranabad as he traveled with his family to Quetta, according to local sources.
Eyewitnesses said between six to eight armed persons stopped his official vehicle, took him away with a gun and fled with the car. His wife, driver and official gunman was left on the spot and remain unobtrusive.
After the incident, security forces launched a large -scale search operation in the area. Snap control has begun along Zubaida Jalal Road and nearby routes, while intelligence-based effort is used to track the abductors.
The abduction of a senior head of government has raised concerns about the security of officials in Balochistan, especially in the Makran region.
The authorities have not yet identified those responsible and no group has assumed responsibility right now.
Efforts to locate and safely restore assistant commissioner Noorzai are in progress.
