Minnesota Twins Pitcher Taj Bradley changed his routine ahead of his start to San Diego Padres on Saturday – he decided to study scout reports for the first time.
Bradley spun a gem over five laps as he allowed a race on a hit and knocked out six blows. However, Bullpen failed to maintain the lead as the offense fell flat. San Diego scored seven races in the seventh and won the game 12-3.

It was a better start for Bradley than his debut for the twins. He was acquired from Tampa Bay Rays before the trade deadline. Last week he allowed seven races on nine hits. The difference seemed to be his study show.
“I just never did it at all,” Bradley said via Star Tribune. “I was a bit out there blind all the time. After my last excursion, I had a lot of soft contact, so I figured it’s time now. Ok, get your head in the books, learn a little about the meetings you’re opposing.”

Twins Manager Rocco Baldelli didn’t seem too concerned about Bradley’s habits.
“Honestly, no matter what helps guys take the haug with confidence and allow them to do their job well, that’s how I want them to think,” he said. “If he throws the ball like that, no matter what his mentality, it’s the mentality he should have because it’s things in a very good Major League Cande.”
The rays chose Bradley in the fifth round of the MLB draft in 2018. He debuted in 2023 and had a 5.59 era in 23 games.

This season, Bradley has a 4.82 era in 23 performances between the twins and the rays.
