Two others were injured. Armed by Amir Balaj Tipu fired back, killing the attacker, Muzaffar Hussain, on the spot.
The attack took place when Ameer Balaj Tipu was leaving the wedding venue while people were busy taking selfies with him.
Earlier, the Lahore police revealed startling details in the murder case of Javed Butt, brother-in-law of Teefi Butt, prime suspect in the Ameer Balaj murder case.
According to DIG Organized Crime, Imran Kishwar, the arrested shooters revealed during interrogation that the killing had been carried out on the orders of Ameer Masab, son of Tipu Truckanwala.
Shooters, identified as Azhar and Ilyas, confessed that the killing had been a contract killing for which they had been promised Rs 500,000 and two valuable houses.
The suspects admitted that they had been in contact with Ameer Masab before and after the murder. The link had allegedly been established through Arif, a former employee of Ameer Masab and a resident of Pattoki, who had arranged the shooters’ meeting with Masab. Arif, however, remained at large.
Ameer Masab had fled the country six days before Javed Butt’s murder, allegedly as part of a premeditated plan. Despite leaving Pakistan, he had maintained communication with the shooters during the execution of the crime, police sources confirmed.
