- The OnePlus 15T has been teased ahead of its full launch
- It is set to pack a 7,500 mAh ‘Glacier’ battery that uses silicon carbon technology
- I loved the 15R’s battery and this one is even bigger
When I review a phone I look at all its specs the same, but for my own device I always look for one with a huge battery. I get charging anxiety and I hate phones that run out of power quickly – so the next OnePlus phone sounds like it’ll be right up my alley.
The OnePlus 15T is an upcoming affordable spin on the OnePlus 15, which we gave a perfect five-star review, and ahead of its launch, the company has confirmed plenty of its specs. It appears to be slightly more premium than the 15’s other spin, the 15R, based on these stats.
Thanks to a Weibo post by OnePlus president Li Jie Louis, we now know that the OnePlus 15T will have 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, slim bezels, an IP69K rating, a periscope zoom camera and, most importantly for me, a 7,500mAh ‘Glacier’ battery. That’s over double the capacity of the iPhone 17, in case you were wondering.
What we don’t know yet is exactly when the OnePlus 15T will launch. But thanks to my past experience with the brand, I know it will land squarely on my wish list when it shows up.
Analysis: Why I’m excited for ’15
I spent about two months testing the OnePlus 15R and only moved to another phone because the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra was launched and I needed to test it.
The phone had a 7,400mAh battery, making the 15Ts even bigger, and the power pack was perhaps the biggest selling point for this Android.
During the testing process, when I used the phone an above-average amount, it easily lasted a day, even if I tested its gaming prowess or took a lot of photos.
And after review time, when I was just using it like my normal phone, it reliably lasted two days on a single charge. I don’t think I’ve experienced that on another phone since battery draining 5G was a thing before.
In fact, I got out of the habit of daily, or even regular, phone charging sessions. The OnePlus 15R supplies 80W, so I would just plug it in for a few minutes every few days when I remembered to keep it running.
This proved horrendous when I started testing the Ultra, which doesn’t last very long because I’d gotten used to multi-day battery life. I had lost the habit of regularly plugging in my phone and had a few sub 10% scares before relearning that I can’t just plug in my phone once every few days and hope for the best.
I’ve had to relearn how to use my phone for the Galaxy, so I’m very much looking forward to forgetting about it again when the OnePlus 15T is likely to come out very soon.
