Police say woman killed near Landhi Hospital, unidentified man dies in Orangi Town
Several traffic incidents have been reported on Karachi’s roads since the beginning of the new year, including one near Landhi Hospital Chowrangi where a 26-year-old woman riding a motorcycle was killed after being hit by a container trailer.
In a separate incident in Orangi Town’s Sector 11½, Hawagoath, a man was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. Meanwhile, on Mehran Highway near a rice warehouse, a truck carrying logs overturned, disrupting traffic, though no injuries were reported.
Landhi Hospital accident
The accident took place on Friday morning near Landhi Hospital Chowrangi in Quaidabad police limits when a trailer hit a motorcycle, killing a 26-year-old woman identified as Bushra.
Witnesses said some bystanders threw stones at the trailer and broke its windshield, after which the driver fled the scene. The police later arrived at the spot and shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico-legal formalities, while the motorcycle and trailer were seized.

SHO Quaidabad Muhammad Ali Shah said Bushra worked in a factory in Landhi Export Processing Zone and belonged to Okara, Punjab, where her funeral is scheduled. He added that family members have requested that the trailer remain in police custody until after the funeral.
In another incident in Orangi Town’s Sector 11½ near Zaitoon Madrasa, a 40-year-old unidentified man was killed in a road accident. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital while the police and crime scene unit conducted an inspection. Officials said preliminary information suggests the incident may have happened at night in a collision with a heavy vehicle. As the victim could not be identified due to lack of fingerprints, the body was later shifted to Edhi mortuary after post-mortem.
Meanwhile, on Mehran Highway near a rice warehouse, a truck carrying logs overturned and disrupted traffic. The traffic police stated that the accident happened due to potholes in the road. No one was injured and the car was later removed to restore traffic.
