Two officers in the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) were martyrated in a firing event on the Tanda Dam Road area of ​​Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province’s Kohat-By on Monday.

The officers identified as Mustafa and Zahid traveled to Kohat City for service when unidentified guns opened fire against them, Express News reported.

Both officers who were on a motorcycle died on site.

The assailants managed to escape, which got a heavy police presence in the area. Security forces have closed the site and launched a search operation. The officers of the deceased have been moved to DHQ Hospital, Kohat.

In a statement after the incident, federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, condemned and expressed his condolance with the deceased officers. He praised the victims of Zahid and Mustafa, referring to their deaths as a testimony to their dedication to duty.

Naqvi said, “The martyr officers, Ghulam Mustafa and Zahid Rehman, sacrificed their lives in service, and we greet their courage. Their contribution to the fight against terrorism will always be remembered.”

The minister also expanded his sympathy to the families to the killed officers and praised the mature of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and recognized their ongoing victims in the fight against terrorism.

In another incident, three people, including a police officer, were also killed and a severely injured in a firing event under Taraweeh beans in Narowal.

According to police, the shooting happened when worshipers offered Taraweeh beans in Inam Ullah Butt’s Residence. Unknown assailants opened a fire without discrimination and killed Special -General Punjab police officer Zafar Iqbal, Transporter Imran Butt and Shahid Butt.

Sho City Narowal, Toheed Ur Rehman, confirmed the incident and stated that the attack was linked to a long -lasting feud over a private bus rack in the area.

After the attack, a heavy police quota arrived led by DPO Narowal, Malik Naveed, to the site, restored the bodies and transferred them to the hospital. The wounded person, Shahbaz, receives medical treatment.
