Cleveland Guardians-starter Luis Ortiz was placed on non-disciplinary paid leave hours before he was scheduled to take the haug against Chicago Cubs on Thursday, MLB announced.

While MLB did not reveal the nature of its study, ESPN reported it was related to games.

Two seats thrown by Ortiz during a start are investigated.

In June, the betting integrity company IC360 passed on the two seats to sports books, according to ESPN, and the first was June 15 against the Seattle Mariners.

The company marked unusual bets on the first pitch thrown by Ortiz at the bottom of the second round to be a ball or hit Batsman. Ortiz spiked a shooting into the ground far away from the strike zone.

Then, on June 27, more unusual bets came into a track from Ortiz at the top of the third round against St. Louis Cardinals. Once again, the effort on a ball or a hit was Batsman, and Ortiz continued to increase another pitch that Catcher couldn’t handle.

While occurrences like this happen to be the best of the pitchers, the league examines the situation.

The rams came in from Ohio, New York and New Jersey, according to ESPN.

The non-disciplinary leave to Ortiz is scheduled to run through the MLB All-Star break, with games resuming in the second half of 18 July.

Guardians released a statement of the case after MLB’s notice.

“Guardians have been notified by the Major League Baseball that Luis Ortiz has been introduced in per agreement with the Players Association due to an ongoing league study.

“Guardians are not allowed to comment further at this time and will respect the league’s confidential investigative process.”

Ortiz has beaten 16 times for The Guardians this season and recorded a 4.36 ERA and 96 strikes.
