The authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have arrested 10 Pakistani nationals, including five women, on charges of Tigging, according to officials of Pakistan’s federal investigative agency (FIA).
The detainees held during separate operations in UAE have been transferred to local prisons and are expected to be deported to Pakistan in the coming days. Officials confirmed that emergency passports are already prepared for their return.
Reportedly, all 10 people were caught while begging different places and are currently in custody. “They will be arrested upon arrival in Pakistan and litigation will be initiated,” said FIA officials.
The arrests come in the midst of increased control of the golf authorities of undocumented or illegal activities by foreign nationals, including those who abuse visit visa or engaged in the Tigging Rack. Pakistani authorities say they work closely with UAE to ensure that the deportation process continues smoothly.
