Karachi:
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, has announced that visa -related questions between the two countries have been resolved. Pakistani citizens can now get a five-year visa, according to a press release issued by the Governor’s House on Tuesday.
Al Zaabi, accompanied by Consul General Dr. Bakheet Ateeq al-Remeithi, met with Sindh Guide Governor Karmran Tessori in Governor’s House. During the meeting, Al Zaabi invited the Governor to visit the Visa Center at the UAE Consulate Consulate in Karachi.
Last December, a Senate Panel had been informed that all Pakistani travelers to UAE were obliged to review police vetting and verification. This development came after the UAE authorities increased control of Pakistani visitors due to concerns about involvement in criminal activities, including begging.
Weeks later, at another meeting on January 9, the Senate’s Standing Committee for Overseas Pakistanis and the development of human resources was informed that UAE -Visa had been “unofficially closed” over concern that some Pakistanis, after arriving at Visiting Visa, are emerging to begging.
“Visa questions are resolved, Pakistanis can get a five-year visa,” quoted the press release on the governor’s house among Ambassador Al Zaabi as stated during the meeting. It added that the ambassador invited the governor to visit the UAE Visa Center in Karachi.
In the apartment, according to the press release, Tessori thanked the UAE broadcast for his country’s investment in the province, especially in Karachi. The ambassador praised the ongoing projects during the Governor’s initiative at Governor House.
Later, the UAE emissary planted a plants as part of the tree planting campaign in the Governor’s House and hoisted national flags in both countries. He also recorded his impressions in the visitors’ book, concluded the press release.
