- 95% of new vehicles must have connection features in 2030
- Car manufacturers such as BMW and Mini offer eSIM capacities
- Ubigi has reduced ESIM prices in seven European countries with high demand
The eSIM market is changing rapidly, with Travel Esim delivery, which is expected to rise from 70 million to 280 million. A key -developed trend is the increase in working from connected cars as more consumers are willing to transform their vehicles into mobile offices.
McKinsey reports that 95% of new vehicles sold will be associated with great opportunities for ESIM providers to provide the company’s mobility solutions.
Ubigi, launched by transatel, already taping this shift. In June 2025, the ESIM mark with MINI collaborated to offer built-in unigi-connection. With this ongoing trend, they have also cut prices on seven European countries to make the connection in the car even more accessible.
“As part of our deep integration into the ESIM ecosystem, we design tailor-made customer travel for each manufacturer while offering a single, international ESIM solution that works consistently in all markets,” said Jacques Bonifay, CEO of Transatel/Ubigi.
What does it mean for eSIM providers?
ESIM providers have a growing opportunity to utilize the vehicle connection market. Ubigi research shows that 40% of customers are already using their eSIM for professional purposes, which emphasizes the demand for stable, high quality of car connection.
To meet these needs, ESIM providers will need to work closely with producers to build service quality and also meet challenges such as cross-border roaming, customer onboarding and long-term plan flexibility.
“In the case of Ubigi Esim, which is integrated into vehicles, an additional advantage lies in the direct use of the vehicle’s antenna. This ensures better reception than an independent smartphone whose signal can be weakened by the Faraday Cage effect of the cabin,” Bonifay explains.
UNIGIS Business -focused offers also highlights what is possible. “What stands out for Ubigi for Business is advanced security features that go beyond private use. This includes IP VPN in operator quality; all traffic is redirected to the company’s server or cloud without passing through the public internet, ensuring confidentiality and control,” adds Bonifay.
In general, consumers are looking for reliable and secure connection, and ESIM providers have an opportunity to develop partnerships with car manufacturers, create flexible business and leisure plans and build a robust customer support service.
“When we look ahead, we are currently in discussions with several other manufacturers for future implementations that remain confidential at this time, but Transatel has fully becoming the global reference for connected cars,” concluded Bonifay.
