UEFA Europa League, Europe’s largest football body, is reportedly moving against a vote to suspend Israel over the war in Gaza, according to Associated Press.
A majority of UEFA’s 20 members Executive Committee is expected to support any vote in favor of suspending Israeli teams from international games per year. Outlet. That would prevent the Israeli national team and club team from playing in international competitions, including next year’s World Cup.
A spokesman for Israel Football Federation (IFA) told Pakinomist Digital that the organization has no “indication” that it is facing the vote.

“I do not know what sources the story is based on the late publications. We have no indications that we are facing such an action. We focus on our international matches against Norway and Italy. This is to tell the truth, very challenging,” the spokesman said.
A spokesman for the Ministry of State told AP that it will work to stop any effort that tried to ban the Israeli team from the World Cup.
Israeli Sports and Culture Minister Miki Zohar, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leader of the Israeli Football Federation, Moshe Zuares, have worked “intensively behind the scenes” to block the efforts to remove Israel from UEFA, Zohar’s Office said on Thursday. “The right step now is to act responsibly with the professionals and not to make statements, and that is how all parties who are involved in the effort are acting. Then, earlier this week, called for seven independent experts working with the UN Human Rights Council FIFA and UEFA to suspend Israel from international competitions.

UEFA and its president, Aleksander Ceferin, signaled a harsher view of Israel last month when banners who said “Stop Killing Children. Stop Killing Civilians” was placed on the field in front of Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham teams in front of the Super Cup game in Udine, Italy.
