Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) head Dana White spoke about his friendship with US President Donald Trump, crediting him with putting his martial arts on the map.
White said he talks to Trump “once a month” and that they don’t discuss politics, adding, “The only time I talk business with him is a fight.”
The UFC boss said: “I would do anything for President Donald Trump. Trump hosted UFC fights at his Taj Mahal Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 2001, giving the sport a big boost before it was very popular.”
His remarks come as the White House prepares to host historic UFC fights on June 14, 2026 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
The event coincides with Trump’s 80th birthday and his love of sport is no secret as the US president has already forced France to reschedule the G7 meeting to accommodate the match.
White said he was focused on delivering the best matches possible, adding: “As long as I don’t screw them up, it’s hard to blow it.”
A 1,000-seat arena will be built on the White House lawn. Trump said any championship games at the venue would be “legendary.”
The UFC has yet to share details about the fighters or the scheduled bouts.
