The British elected councils and mayors across the party line have appreciated the Pakistan High Commission (PHC) for gathering community leadership, enabling them to get in touch with their colleagues and friends from all over the UK.
PHC in London hosted a convention of British Council Pakistani Origin, which was attended by delegates from all over Britain, representing all the political parties in the UK, said a statement received here on Sunday.
More than 200 councils, mayors, deputy and leaders of the advice from Greater London to Midlands, Manchester, Bradford, Birmingham and Glasgow, attended the event.
When he spoke to the apartment, Pakistan High Commissioner praised Dr. Mohammad Faisal British-Pakistani leaders for their important role in strengthening democracy, promoting multiculturalism and serving as a bridge between Britain and Pakistan.
The High Commissioner emphasized to project the results of British-Pakistani women. “The strength of our nation abroad is reflected in the dignity of our Diaspora, unity and contributions,” he said. “When you get up, Pakistan gets up with you.”
Faisal condemned attempts to stigmatize the Pakistani society based on isolated events and called on leaders to actively counteract negative stereotypes by strengthening success stories in education, business, healthcare and public service. He urged society to strengthen women and young people, preserve cultural heritage and explore opportunities in Pakistan’s growing economy.
