Ummah set to celebrate 12. Rabi-UL-AWWAL

The birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will be observed today (Saturday) with great religious zeal and reverence across the country, including Karachi.

Mosques, streets, buildings and crosses throughout the city are beautifully decorated with colorful lighting, green flags and pictures of the green dome in Masjid-E-Nabvi.

Especially the old urban area with communities that are steep in traditional celebration of the event, the air is resonating with Durood-O-Salaam. People compete in the decoration of courses and houses. Free food and drinks (sherbet) distribution will be widespread around Burns Road, Ma Jinnah Road, Karadar, Lyari, Liaquatabad and other such areas.

The people will deliver Briyani, Qorma with Naan, to the neighbors. Milad gatherings in old city neighborhoods will see girls and women prove to be best to recite na’ats in speakers.

The highlight of the day remains the most important rally. People express devotion to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in their own special style. Some run on horses and camels wearing Arabic dresses, while a flow of young girls in FE dresses recite Na’at will also be a prominent feature.

Police have completed security arrangements for 12. Rabi-Ul-Awwal processes and gatherings and deployed 4,480 officers and staff across the city.

According to a police spokesman, 1,882 staff will be stationed in the South Zone, 811 in East, 449 in Nishtar Park and 553 at entrance points in the city.

The police chief instructed all processional routes to remain under strict vigilance, where the traffic police ensured a steady stream of vehicles. Security schemes are also monitored through CCTV monitoring.

Across Karachi, religious gatherings, Na`at considerations, Seerate-un-Nabi conferences and processions will be organized. Parties begin early in the morning with collective prayers, recitation of greetings on the prophet (PBUH) and prayer for peace and prosperity.

According to Allama Syed Shah Abdul Haq Qadri, Ameer of Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat Karachi, the central procession will come from the new Memon Mosque at Bolton Market after Zuhr prayers. The procession, led by scholars and spiritual leaders, culminates at Nishtar Park, where a magnificent ‘Milad-E-Mustafa Conference’ will be addressed by prominent religious figures. The events are managed by volunteers and scouts of Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat.

Allama Shah Abdul Haq has appealed to participants to fully cooperate with volunteers and law enforcement authorities, comply with the schedule, use designated entry points on Ma Jinnah Road and immediately report suspicious things or persons to the authorities.

Lejre has also been created along Ma Jinnah Road and other key locations of Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat, Sunni Tehreek, Tehreek-E-Labbaik and other religious organizations to facilitate participants in processions and events.

Throughout the city, food and offers will be distributed, while mosques will arrange night-long gatherings for Na`at considerations, Milad, Qasida Burda Sharif and sessions with collective recitation by Durood Shareef.

Strict security measures have been introduced to the central procession and related events.

Allama Shah Abdul Haq has said that celebration of the Prophet’s birth (PBUH) is a sign of faith that calls on Muslims to participate in processions and collections with the sincerity to express their deep devotion and love for Messenger.
