UN leads the world into condemning train attack

Islamabad:

The United Nations led the international condemnations of the terrorist attack on a train in Balochistan as the world capitals expressed solidarity with Islamabad in the wake of the cruel assault on the innocent civilians.

Terrorists belonging to the forbidden Baloch Liberation Army (Bla), Jaffar EXPRESS hijacked with 450 passengers on board while traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, in the Bolan district on Tuesday. The security forces immediately launched the rescue operation, which continued until Wednesday.

UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres condemned strong hijacking of Jaffar Express and has required immediate release of the hostages, said UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric. The Secretary -General made it clear that “attacks on civilians are unacceptable and the international community should take steps to prevent such events” he added.

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy condemned in a post on the microblogging site for XX “terrorist attack in Balochistan”. He said, “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of those who have lost their lives.” A similar message was also tweeted by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott.

The European Union (EU) Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Riina Kionka also condemned the terrorist attack and expressed her condolences with the victims’ families. Our deepest compassion people go in and families of victims. As the situation is still taking place, we express our deep concern for the hostages and demand their immediate release, ”she wrote on X.

China also condemned the terrorist attack and promised to continue Peking’s regular support for Islamabad in combating terrorism, maintaining solidarity and social stability and protecting civilian security.

“We noticed the reports and strongly condemn this terrorist attack,” said Chinese spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mao Ning during his regular briefing. “We will continue to support Pakistan in combating terrorism, maintaining solidarity and social stability, and protecting civilian security.”

Spokesman Mao said China firmly opposite terrorism in any form and added that China was ready to strengthen counterrorism and security cooperation with Pakistan and jointly keep the region peaceful, safe and stable.

The Iranian spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ismail Baghaei strongly condemned the hostage incident and expressed deep concern about the danger of innocent civilians. In a statement, Baghaei Iran’s principle attitude against all forms of terrorism and violent extremism confirmed.

He expanded solidarity with the government and Pakistan people in this difficult time. In addition, he repeated Iran’s readiness to provide any necessary help in helping to end the terrorist act and secure the security of those affected.

The Iranian Embassy in Islamabad also condemned the assault as a “feiging crime against humanity”, emphasizing that targeting civil and disruptive vital transport infrastructure constituted a serious violation of human rights and international norms.

The US Embassy in Islamabad expanded “deepest sympathy and compassion for the victims, their families and all those affected by this horrible act required by the Baloch Liberation Army, an American specially designated global terrorist group.

“The Pakistani people deserve to live free from violence and fear. The United States will remain a steadfast partner in Pakistan in his efforts to ensure the security and security of all its citizens. We are solidarity with Pakistan in this difficult time,” the embassy said in a statement.
