Islamabad:
Jui-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that although the nation would be united in the event of a conflict with India, the same unit cannot be expected if tension escalates with Afghanistan, adding that “this is something to be understood”.
He made these remarks while approaching “Solidarity with Palestine and Tribute to Shaheed Maulana Hamidul Haq” conference. FAZL emphasized the importance of unity and the need for continuity in the struggles led by religious and political movements.
FAZL aimed at the ruling elite that the current political class of colonial times sits with the British. “Those who were loyal to the British were rewarded with states and privileges – and they continue to enjoy these benefits today,” he added.
The Jui-F chief emphasized what he called the “fragmentation” of the Muslim world, noting that a “shared body” cannot defend himself. “We are facing multidimensional crises. Afghanistan endured 20 years of war before achieving victory, and like its ‘wounds were fresh’, the question of Palestine broke out.”
He draws parallels between the global treatment of the Taliban and Hamas, and said both have been labeled as terrorist organizations. “The conflict began on October 7. On October 14, during our million March, a Hamas representative ended us. I call Hamas representatives the Mujahideen,” he declared.
He also remembered his visit to express solidarity after the Hamas leaders’ martyr death Ismail Haniyeh and emphasized the importance of Muslim unity.
