- Leaked pictures apparently showing the rumored DJI Mavic 4 Pro’s final design
- The camera module appears to be able to tilt far more than Mavic 3 Pro’s
- No lidar module visible but propellers are more aerodynamic than Mavic 3 Pro’s
A new leaked image suggests that DJI Mavic 4 Pro’s launch may not be too far away. DJI has not yet teased or confirmed anything about its highly rumored replacement for 2023’s Mavic 3 Pro, but a crisp and clear reproduction shared by serial leaks Jasper Ellens on his site actually looks very convincing.
The image seems to be a final design reproduction of the type used by DJI for promotional purposes. If it is true (and there is always the possibility that it may be a smart mock-up made by a fan), it may suggest that the launch date is imminent. Dronexl suggests April 20, 2025 can be the big day, and if so, we can expect more leaks to drip out in the coming weeks – including possible details of Mavic 4 Pro’s specifications and capabilities.
Despite its clarity, this image does not tell us much that we did not already know from previous leaks, although it seems to show a reworked propeller design that is more aerodynamic than the older model. It could spell quieter operation and longer flight time – with 50 minutes of battery life that is hinted by earlier leaks. The props also appear to have a light release disc on top of each that can serve to improve airflow while helping to prevent rain and dust from entering the engines.
Lashes against greatness
As previously seen, the Mavic 4 Pro’s Triple Camera Module (which, like the Mavic 3 Pro includes Hasselblad -Branding), is physically larger and more bulbous than its predecessor.
The size increase can point to improved image quality via larger sensors or lenses, while the fact that it protrudes more prominently on its gimbal mounting may enable a larger area of movement. Some Mavic 3 Pro users have found its Gimbal series a little limiting, so this can be DJI’s way of improving things.
Another leak from Ellens seems to confirm the extra range of movement. On X (formerly Twitter) he shared a video that apparently proves that Mavic 4 Pro’s camera module will be able to tilt much longer than the Mavic 3 Pro’s. He also says the camera will be able to record vertical video.
New video confirms the #Mavic4Pro camera will shoot #vertical and will go beyond 90 degrees. Also the camera tilt will go #twice as far up as the older Mavic3. Oh and I put some high resolution pictures at the end of the article. Cheers! Https: //t.co/omhllebw3tMarch 5, 2025
Where does the Lidar module hide?
We are excited about the prospect of improved camera trading, considering that the Mavic 3 Pro, which has a 24mm/20MP four-third sensor camera, 3x tele camera with 1/1.3-inch sensor and 7x telefoto camera with 1/2-inch sensor, currently sits as our favorite premium camera drone.
There is no evidence of the very guarded Lidar module on the new leaked image, although Dronexl thinks it is hidden behind the propeller on the drone’s left arm due to the shot angle. It makes sense, given that Lidar is among the features of Mid-Range DJI Air 3S released last fall. If the mid-range model has it, it certainly tracks that the flagship would also?
Expect to hear more about the DJI Mavic 4 Pro in the driveway to its still non-confirmed launch date. If it is April 20, 2025, as rumors suggest, we probably have more speculation (and specifications) to share with you soon.
