LODHRAN: A young man falsely reported his cousin’s forced marriage after learning that she was to be married elsewhere, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said: “The young man informed that the girl was being forcibly married.”
“The man, who hails from Kahror Pakka, wanted to marry his cousin,” the police spokesman added.
When the police arrived at the scene, it was established that the wedding took place with the consent of the girl, says the spokesman.
In addition, the police spokesperson also said that the young man called the police helpline 15 and then gave the false report about the girl’s marriage.
In particular, the suspect has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under the Telegraph Act, the police said.
