Canada will take on the United States in the 4 Nations Face-off final later this week in what will be a new match for their intense matchup from the weekend when three games broke out in nine seconds.

Brad Marchand and Nathan Mackinnon both expressed enthusiasm about coming to play the United States again after Canada’s 5-3 win over Finland on Monday afternoon.

“We are obviously really excited about (to have) another crack on these guys. It will be an intense game, certainly, ”Marchand said.

“There is no major rivalry in hockey than Canada-US, and I think it’s the matchup that everyone would have. So it will be an extremely intense game we all look forward to.”

Mackinnon said he thinks Canada can get the victory in Boston.

“We feel we can beat these guys and we plan to play a little better on Thursday,” he said via the athletic.

The Americans got a hit in their loss against Sweden to end the round-robin part of the tournament. Brady Tkachuk left the second period after a collision with Sweden’s Samuel Ersson in the crisis. Auston Matthews and Charlie McAvoy were scratched from the lineup.

American head coach Mike Sullivan said the team is looking forward to Matchup.

“The first game was such a big hockey game. And I think it’s great for hockey that there is an opportunity for these two teams to meet again,” said Sullivan. “Obviously, both teams have star power around the lineup. It was a very competitive hockey game, the first game. I would foresee that the next will be just as competitive, if not more.”
