According to Blockchain Sleuth Zachxbt, one of the creditor of the defunct trading company Genesis last year was counterfeit by a group of scammers capable of stealing digital assets of $ 243 million worth of digital assets and then redirecting it through cryptoms.
Several of the accused who include US citizens and foreign were arrested in California this week, DOJ said in a press release on Thursday. The remaining two people live abroad.
The charges of the individuals range from racketing, wire fraud to money laundering and obstacle to justice.
