“We are committed to providing $2 billion worth of US mining equipment and services to support the construction and management of the Reko Diq mine over the coming years,” Baker said. She said the project will generate around 6,000 jobs in the US and 7,500 in Balochistan, greatly benefiting both economies.
“This project will serve as a model for mining, creating employment opportunities for US exporters, as well as local communities and partners in Pakistan, benefiting both countries,” she added.
Baker highlighted that the Trump administration had made similar agreements a central part of US diplomacy and expressed commitment to further agreements between US companies and Pakistan in the mining sector.
The Reko Diq project is considered a key initiative to strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and the United States, particularly in the mining and minerals sector.
