US EYES PAKISTANCE MINERY FULD FOR STRATEGIC Gains: Senior State Dept Official

Eric Meyer, a senior agency official (SBO) for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized Pakistan’s enormous potential in the mineral sector and called it a game election for both economies.

During a recent visit to Islamabad, Meyer led an American delegation that focused on increasing cooperation in Pakistan’s critical mineral industry, elaborating on economic ties and reinforcing collaboration on terrorism.

“Critical minerals are the raw materials needed for our most advanced technologies,” Meyer said, talking on the sidelines of Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum.

“President Trump has made it clear that it is a strategic priority to secure different and reliable sources of these materials. Pakistan’s great mineral potential can benefit both of our countries,” he added.

According to an official statement, the United States is aiming to support sustainable development in Pakistan’s mining sector by sharing technical expertise, encouraging investment and promoting responsible resource management.

Meyer highlighted the mutual benefits of a transparent and well -regulated mining sector, adding that it could lock significant financial opportunities.

During his two-day stay, Meyer met with the top leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, chief of staff Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik.

Their discussions were about expanding access to US companies, strengthening economic partnerships and promoting common terrorist efforts.

Meyer also dealt with foreign policy analysts, US business representatives in Pakistan and alumni of US public diplomaty programs to confirm the human-to-human relations that support bilateral ties.
