Just six weeks after women’s fence Stephanie Turner was disqualified and escorted out of a tournament to kneel in protest against a trans opponent, she saw the man responsible for her punishing herself to be grilled for it in a federal consultation.

US fence stool Damien Lehfeldt was grilled by Republican lawmakers by Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Under Committee’s “InJourly Play: Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” hearing Wednesday.

After the hearing, Turner Pakinomist told Digital that she would devote herself and her platform to push for the resignation among the most important leadership figures in the United States fence.

“I want to push for people to resign, to be honest. I want to see some people resign from the comments they have made, especially in public, those who harass and intended to humiliate affected women, mothers and daughters,” Turner said.

US Fence has made a statement to Pakinomist Digital Addressing Turner’s call for leadership leadership.

“We respect Mrs. Turner’s right to share her views. The volunteer members of the US Hencing Board of Directors elected by our membership remain focused on serving athletes and fulfilling our obligations under Ted Stevens Act and other rules for rules. No management changes are under consideration,” the statement states.

Lehfeldt, who was competed and did not come voluntarily, made things harder on themselves prior to the hearing with a series of Instagram stories that were later blown up and used against him on the committee floor. In a post that became viral before the hearing, he answered a question that asked if he was “okay” of putting female fences in a disadvantage with a single, brash answer: “Yes.”

Then, during the hearing, Lehfeld admitted several times that he regretted answering that way and admitted that the question required a “more-nuanced” answer.

“He was under oath, but I was surprised that he admitted to having written a false answer he sent on his Instagram,” Turner said. “So the simple admission that he knows what he’s doing and the threats of tactics he used online and he knows they’re wrong, and he hadn’t edited them before the time it took a hearing, a competition for him to do it, it was surprising.”

USA fence made a statement to Pakinomist Digital, which addressed his chairman’s social media posts on Wednesday.

“Mr. Lehfeldt’s prior social positions were made in a personal trait. Before and during the hearing, he clarified that the comments do not reflect the US fence policy and expressed regret for any confusion they caused,” the statement reads.

However, it was just the start of the things for Lehfeldt. During the afternoon, he faced his rightful share of insults and personal comments from members of Republican Committee.

Rep. Tim Burhcett, R-tenn, asked Lehfeldt if he would let his daughter fence against “a man.” Lehfeldt suggested he would allow it while he could boast of his organization’s safety precautions.

“As long as the competitor has met all the hormonal demands and complies with the policy, I would be okay with it,” Lehfeldt said.

Later during the hearing, Rep suggested. Nancy Mace, Rs.C., that Lehfeldt was “not” a man for his organization’s policy of gender eligibility.

“Real men protect women, you’re not one,” Mace said.

Mace even asked Lehfeldt to just apologize for Turner for punishing the fence, which the chairman rejected and pointed out that Turner received a black card for her rejection.

However, Turner was not looking for an apology.

“I want more than one apology. I want a change in politics and I want people to start talking the truth again. And an apology is just empty words without actions for me so I don’t know how far it would go for me,” Turner said.

The organization first adopted its current Trans-Including Policy in 2023. It allows transnry athletes to compete in the women’s category at both junior and senior levels after completing a calendar year with testosterone suppression treatment. Evidence of compatible hormone therapy must be provided before competition, but the organization has taken further steps to prioritize its trans competitors.

The US Fence announced at the end of April that it is preparing to change its gender eligibility policy in the wake of the controversy with Turner.

“In the event that the US fence is forced to change its current attitude in accordance with supervisory bodies or federal legislation, the new political states must, athletes competing in the US hencing-sanctioned tournaments compete according to their biological gender,” the announcement reads.

The proposed updated policy ensures that the women’s category “will only be open to athletes of the female gender.” The category of the gentlemen “will be open to all other athletes who are otherwise eligible for competition.”

Education Secretary Linda McMahon announced earlier Title IX studies The team examines the incident involving Turner and Trans -Competition Redmond Sullivan.

Meanwhile, Turner is on a hiatus from fence in the wake of the controversy.

“I don’t see how I can spend the money to go for a tournament and get their more officials that I know there is deep against me,” Turner said. “It’s just not a fight that I want to be in the middle of right now I’d rather take this fight somewhere else.”
