The United States hosts some major international sporting events in the next few years: 2025 Ryder Cup, 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028.
However, the country is not ready for all flights that come with these events, the US Travel Association said in a report Wednesday.
“Without immediate action, our outdated air travel system will strive under the pressure,” the report says.

The US Travel Association called for urgent modernization of air traffic management technology and solutions to the country’s lack of air traffic controller.
“America stares at a historical opportunity – the question is whether we will seize the moment or fall crazy short,” said Geoff Freeman, president and CEO of the US Travel Association.
“The next several years will bring unprecedented travel demand that our systems are not prepared to handle. Washington has a small window to fix larger travel pain and lock a financial option of $ 100 billion – but it will require a speed level that have been missed in recent years.

The US Travel Association called on Congress and President Donald Trump and his administration to take steps to improve air travel.
The organization said it wanted to get the Leaders of the White House to show the country at Marquee Global Events, get Trump to deliver his promise of accelerated visas to the World Cup in 2026 and create more advanced security screening processes and strong airport boundaries.
