US Volleyball (UTAV) has become the latest organization that changes its gender eligibility policy to adapt to President Donald Trump‘s executive order aimed at preventing transient athletes from competing in girls and women’s sports.
The latest political change that comes into force immediately says that all members of the unpainted “are expected to participate or compete in all USAV-sanctioned events or activities as a member of the gender awarded at the time of birth on their birth certificate.”

The change effectively prohibits transking athletes from competition in response to US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), who quietly updated its guidance on Monday to demand that all national sports government agencies comply with the president’s executive order.

“As a federal chartered organization, we have an obligation to comply with federal expectations,” wrote the U.SOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland and President Gene Sykes in a letter. “Our revised policy emphasizes the importance of ensuring righteous and ensuring competitive environments for women. All national governing bodies are required to update their applicable policies in adaptation.”
USA fence Was one of the first organizations to advertise this week that it updated its gender eligibility policy to comply with USAPC’s new guidance. UTAV followed on Thursday and added that the change sets the organization “for compliance” with federal law.
The UK’s previous policy for gender eligibility for the 2024-2025 season said earlier that “the vast majority of athletes are expected to compete as a member of the gender awarded at the time of birth on their birth certificate.” However, transgender athletes were allowed to compete in USAV-sanctioned events if they met certain criteria.

The president signed “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order on February 5th. Since then, several sports government agencies have taken steps to comply with the federal law. The Ncaa was the first to advertise a policy change the day after Trump signed the order.
After a month -long investigation, the University of Pennsylvania also made changes, and at least 24 states have implemented legislation prohibiting transient athletes from girls’ and women’s sports.
