USA approves flooding aid to Pakistan

The United States has approved an aid help package to Pakistan in the wake of the recent devastating floods that mark the first international aid initiative of its kind under the Trump administration, the state-controlled Pakistan TV reported.

According to the US Department of State, funding will provide food, shelter and other emergency in flood -affected regions. The US government said it would work in coordination with Pakistani authorities and trusted humanitarian organizations to provide assistance.

US Central Command has already sent a first consignment of emergencies. Jeremy Levin, an official in the senior department who oversees foreign aid and humanitarian affairs, said Washington moved quickly to respond.

“Within only 72 hours, US relief teams were deployed, new assistance was arranged and important military supplies were sent to Pakistan,” Levin said.

Bethany Morrison, another official in the senior department, Washington acknowledged the extent of the disaster and its toll on civilians.

“The United States understands the effect of such disasters and is obliged to provide life -saving help, including food and shelter, to the people of Pakistan,” Morrison said.

According to the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), the Ministry of State in a press release said Washington was standing with Pakistanis who were affected by the disaster. “The United States stands with the people of Pakistan, whose lives have been upset by widespread, catastrophic floods.

On September 5, the US State Department approved a monetary reaction to delivering food, shelter and other forms of life -saving disaster relief to affected society, ”the statement reads.

A spokesman for the Ministry of State added that assistance would be delivered in partnership with Pakistani authorities and humanitarian groups. “We are ready to coordinate with the government in Pakistan and trusted relief organizations on Earth to provide assistance to the most affected areas,” the spokesman said.

The department has not revealed the amount of funding obliged to the recovery effort.

Jeremy Lewin framed the move as part of the Trump Administration’s wider aid strategy. “Our quick support for the United States’ Near Ally Pakistan offers another example of the efficiency and effectiveness of the state department’s new Integrated America First Foreign Assistance capacities,” Lewin told ABC News.

Last week, the United States sent humanitarian aid to Pakistan to help those affected by continuous flooding across the country.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), six flights organized through the US Army Central Command (Arcent) will supply emergency relief products, including tents, drainage pumps and generators.

The first shipment arrived Nur Khan Air Base, where the US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker and commander of the US Arent formally handed over the supplies to the Pakistani army.

ISPR said assistance would be sent to the army flood camps for further distribution. “The government and people of Pakistan are grateful to the US government and military for standing by the affected population in Pakistan during these test times,” the statement added.

The US Embassy in Islamabad said in a separate statement that US military aircraft had delivered important supplies at the request of Pakistan’s armed forces in response to the devastating floods.
