The US State Department has warned his citizen to travel to Pakistan because of terrorism and the potential for armed conflict.
Pakistan Travel Advisory Level 3 issued by Bureau of Consular Affairs has asked us travelers to rethink trips to Pakistan. The specific areas mentioned in the counseling include Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)-inclusive the previously federally managed tribal areas (FATA), the immediate vicinity of the India-Pakistani border and the control line.
“Violent extremist groups continue to plot attacks in Pakistan. Terrorist attacks are frequent in Balochistan Province, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KP), which includes the former FATA. Large-scale terrorist attacks have resulted in several damage and small military attacks are frequent.
The US State Department has also advised its citizens to stay away from illegal protest demonstrations during their journey to Pakistan and added, “Local law prohibits protesting or demonstration without permission. Being near a protest can draw control from Pakistani security forces. US citizens have been withheld to participate in protests and to place content on social media, as critical of Pakistani –
Pakistan’s safety environment remains fluid and sometimes changes with little or no notice. There are greater security resources and infrastructure in the major cities, especially Islamabad, and security forces in these areas may be more easily able to respond to an emergency compared to other areas of the country, mentioned advisory.
It also said that the Pakistan government is limiting the journey of US government staff working in Pakistan.
