Islamabad:

Pakistan will continue to pursue strategic partnership with China and reject the perception that its close ties with the United States may come at the expense of Beijing.

Two statements on Friday – one from the Foreign Office and the other from ISPR – delivered a clear message that Pakistan’s relationship with China was “unique” and both sides would support each other regardless of the changing strategic dynamics.

Since the unprecedented reset in the relationship between Pakistan and the United States, there has been mumbling and skeptics who fear that Washington’s proximity can persuade Islamabad to maintain distance from China.

“I do not agree with this view” spokesman for foreign office Shafqat Ali Khan replied emphatically. “China is a very close friend and iron brother. We enjoy a strategic partnership spread over decades. It is a unique relationship between two friendly neighboring countries and has nothing to do with what kind of connections we are pursuing with other countries.”

“The relationship between Pakistan-China is based on the principles of international law and UN charter. Our relationship remains robust and two sides are working to maintain the positive momentum,” he added.

Previously, ISPR said a ceremony was held at GHQ to commemorate the 98th founders anniversary of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in China.

Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong was the main guest while present was Major General Wang Zhong, Defense Saché, officials of the Chinese Embassy and Senior Military Officers of the Tri-Services of Pakistan.

Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir, chief of staff, expanded a warm welcome to the Chinese guests and congratulated pla with the 98th founding of the anniversary. He paid tribute to Pla’s central role in China’s defense, security and nation-building.

Coas emphasized the strength and strategic significance of relations on the relationship between Pakistan and China, emphasizing that the bond between the two nations is unique, time -tested and unusually resistant in the midst of developing regional and global challenges.

Field Marshal emphasized that the strategic relationship between Pakistan-Kina exemplifies mutual trust, unshakable support and shared commitment. He emphasized that despite changing strategic dynamics, the friendship between the two nations has remained steadfast and unreasonable.

By finishing his address, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir confirmed that the Pakistani Army and PLA are real brothers-in-the-weapon. He emphasized that their sustained partnership will continue to play a key role in promoting regional stability and protecting common strategic interests.

By tacking the collection, the Chinese ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude to Coas to host the event in memory of the PLA’s 98 -year anniversary. He acknowledged the steadfast role of Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism and confirmed China’s unshakable support and commitment to its strategic partnership with Pakistan.
