- There are widespread reports about the new whoop mg band that fails
- The device does not respond to several hours of use
- Whoop has issued substitutes to at least some of those affected
It seems that there is a serious problem with the new Whoop MG (medical quality) Fitness tape launched just a few weeks ago when many users reported that their devices have crashed and stopped working.
As reported by tech questions today, there are complaints everywhere for forum boards and social media. The problem is the same: The device sensors stop working a few hours after MG mg is created without warning signs.
The tracker stops displaying any LED lights, is not synchronized with the mobile app and does not respond even when fully charged. All user complaints say Whoop MG stopped responding within the first day of use.
This seems to be a widespread problem as well: You don’t have to look long on Reddit, X or Whoop’s official social forums to find frustrated users. These Whoop MG owners report that they follow the default troubleshooting steps, to no use.
What should I do if you are affected
@Whoop wow guys I was so excited to get my new MG Sensor from you. After only 5 days it failed. The worst part is the absolute runaround I’ve got the last 24 hours trying to deal with, I can only imagine is AI Customer Support. Way to make a bad experience for worse!May 21, 2025
An official response from the Whoop team recommends full charge of the battery and then forced a reset by quickly tapping the top of the sensor several times until the page led pulses blue. You can then find that you can pair it again in the app.
However, these steps do not appear to be enough for some users. Affected Whoop MG owners are also asked to contact Whoop Support directly, and it seems that some people are being sent replacements without asking for them as Bugs has been found externally.
If you have been affected, try the reset process attached above and then get in touch with Whoop – you should be sent a free replacement if your Whoop MG has suddenly stopped working and cannot be restored.
And it’s worth saying that this doesn’t affect everyone, with some users reporting flawless surgery with their whoop mg. In the days when the Techradar team has spent with the laptop, we have not noticed any problems with it either.
