Pakistan’s dough, Usman Khan, after maintaining a hamstring injury was excluded from the second ODI against New Zealand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement on Sunday.

The 29-year-old opening dough was wounded while marking during his side’s first ODDE against New Zealand in McLean Park in Napier on Friday.

The MRI scan confirmed a low-quality tear, which made Usman unavailable for the second ODD, which was scheduled on April 2 at Seddon Park in Hamilton, according to the statement.

The Pakistan team is in New Zealand for a three-match ODI series, which the Kiwis lead 1-0. After facing each other on Wednesday to the second game, the pages will meet for the last ODD on Saturday, April 5 at The Bay Oval.

Pakistan chased a formidable target of 345 in the first ODD, and then began with confidence with debutant Usman Khan and Abdullah Shafique threw an 83-run opening stand. Both fighters adopted an aggressive approach and laid a strong foundation.

However, the breakthrough in the 13th came over when Nathan Smith dismissed Usman in 39.
