- Valve
- These parts are important for VR -Wearables, which suggests that Valve Deckard will soon come
- Valve’s movement could also tease future VR -headset beyond Deckard
Almost six years since the launch of the Smash Hit Valve index, it seems that the Steam Team is ready to start making the long-awaited independent successor according to new rumors.
The codename valve deckard in leaks was initially assumed to have a release date for the end of 2025, but details were few and far in between, which suggested it could slip later.
However, new details from unfortunately in the past suggest that a source of multiple VR hardware -Dressing -steaming in front of the production, as the company has imported the equipment needed to manufacture the VR -Headset Face interfaces.
In a later item, Sadleyitsbradley pointed out that the valve has received facial interface shipments since last year -suggesting that this new equipment may not be just manufacturing deckard interfaces, but prototype design for its next VR Headset.
Alternatively, this may be an attempt from Valve to avoid some of the increased customs costs that US President Donald Trump has hiring around recently.
Fwiw, Valve also received pallet shipments of new face bringinated surfaces (not machines) since last year from the same company that the machinery valve recently received was probably* an injection -shaped,April 10, 2025
Rikly enough, facial interface does not tell us much about the headset itself, but given that they are only used for devices such as VR headset and nothing else in Valve’s hardware-line-up (such as a steam tire), valve investment in their production suggests that it plans to make a new VR headset.
And as the valve index reportedly left the production sometime last year (via unfortunately Bradley, again), these interfaces are unlikely to be for its existing technique.
In addition to this latest rumor, other leaks tease something special, with deckard said that not only is an independent headset (like Meta Quest 3), but also a portable steam tire that you can use to play flat games.
Just be prepared for it to be expensive. We’re talking about $ 1,200 (about £ 950 / AU $ 1,950), though this would include a few games in a bundle.
This is not as cheap as a Meta Quest 3, but with Steam’s incredible software, supporting Valve Deckard can be a shoo-in for our best VR headset list.
It is worth remembering that all leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt, but with Valve Deckard it feels like where there is smoke, there is probably fire.
We just have to wait and see if this is the case when we roll through 2025, and the rumored Deckard release date is approaching. If deckard is advertised, you can be sure we are ready to keep you up to date on everything you need to know.
