In a tragic incident, the famous actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her apartment in Karachi’s Gullhan-e-Iqbal area.
The confirmation of the report said the police said the body seemed to be about a week old and added that the actress lived alone in the apartment.
The incident emerged when Ayesha’s neighbors informed her family of a bad odor emitting from her apartment. After being informed, police rushed to the stage and moved her body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for Medico-Juridic formalities.
Later, her body was moved from JPMC to the Edhi Foundation’s Mortuary at Sohrab Goth. Police said the investigation of Ayesha would be completed at the request of her family.
The time and the place of her funeral beans will be announced later.
It is relevant to mention here that Ayesha played memorable characters in some of the most iconic Pakistan -tv acts such as Difhanes, Uroosa, Aanch, Bandhan and Shaam See Pehle.
Born in 1948, Ayesha was the older sister of actress Khalida Riasat.
One of her most memorable roles was in Difhanes, where she played a sad woman whose husband and brother had to flee the country during the partition for security reasons. She raises her child and her brother’s daughter Difhan when she waits for her husband’s return.
When she commented on her death, Arts Council of Pakistan President Ahmed Shah said she was acting for more than 50 years and her death was a major loss to the country’s drama scene.
